Renewing values in knowledge, information, and media

The Values in Knowledge Foundation addresses problems related to media and the transmission of knowledge and information, and supports projects that seek to realize positive human values in global affairs.

Revolutionary advances in communications technology allow knowledge and information to flow at unprecedented levels of volume, speed, and access, while exerting implicit influences over society and individuals.

War and peace, economic stability or disparity, gender relations, and environmental abuse or preservation, in short our future together, turn on which values are transmitted in information we consume. Information often is organized and disseminated carelessly or maliciously, and consumed unthinkingly, or by innocents lacking sufficiently developed capacity for discernment..

VKF supports numerous projects including New World Encyclopedia, and projects that advance positive human values of individual development, social harmony, environmental sensitivity, and economic responsibility.
